The Name Servers of a domain show the DNS servers that manage its DNS records. The Internet protocol address of the web site (A record), the mail server that handles the e-mails for a domain (MX records), any text record in free form (TXT record), pointing (CNAME record) and so on are taken from the DNS servers of the website hosting provider and for any domain to be using them and to be forwarded to their hosting platform, it needs to have their name servers, or NS records. If you would like to open a site, for instance, and you insert the URL, the Internet browser connects to a DNS server, which keeps the NS records for the domain address and the request is then forwarded to the DNS servers of the webhosting provider where the A record of the site is retrieved, so that you can see the content from the right location. Usually a domain address has a couple of name servers that start with NS or DNS as a prefix and the difference between the two is only visual.

NS Records in Cloud Hosting

When you use a cloud hosting from our company and you add a new domain name in the account or transfer an existing one from a different provider, you're going to be able to handle its NS records easily using the Hepsia website hosting Control Panel, provided with all shared accounts. You can change the current name servers or enter additional ones for a single domain or even for a group of domain addresses at once with several mouse clicks. This is done via the feature-rich Domain Manager tool that's a part of Hepsia and the user-friendly interface is going to make it easy to manage your domain even if it's the first one you've ever registered. It requires simply a mouse click to see what name servers a domain address uses at the moment or if they're the correct ones to forward a domain name to the hosting space on our end and with only a few clicks more you'll even be able to register private name servers for each of the domain names that you own. For the latter option you can use the IP addresses of every company that you want the new NS records to forward to.

NS Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The name servers for each domain name that is registered through us can be changed with no more than a few clicks from the advanced, though easy-to-use Hepsia Control Panel included with all semi-dedicated server plans. It's just as easy to see the current NS records for a given domain address and to verify if they're the ones that are needed for the domain name to be pointed to your hosting account. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, is user-friendly enough to permit you to manage any domain name effortlessly even if you have not dealt with such matters before. If you would like, you can also register private name servers ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com and use them not only for the domain address under which they are set up, but also for any other domain address that you would like to host within the exact same account. This option is very handy if you have clients of your own and you would like their websites to use your own name servers in lieu of our default ones. The service is available free of charge.
