An access log is a complete list of all the files which were accessed by the visitors of a given website. Each and every file which was requested in some way shall be listed, so if you have a single page with 3 embedded pics, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the 6 files that were accessed when the website visitor opened the webpage. A log normally contains the file name and path, the date, as well as the visitor’s Operating System, Internet browser and IP address. In some cases you can also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your site. The data an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to write reports on the overall performance of a website, in addition to the web statistics that your web hosting server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

Our custom Hepsia CP includes a section focused on various logs and the access logs are among them. When you sign in to your cloud hosting account and go to this section, you will find a list of all the domains and subdomains which you have. All it takes to allow the generation of access logs is to press a button that will be available next to every domain/subdomain. When the option is enabled, you'll see a download link together with the file size so far, so you'll be able to save the file to your computer and view it or process it with some app. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect immediately, so if you no longer need one, you can stop it with a mouse click from the exact same section of the Control Panel. You will still be able to access the already created content by simply clicking the Download link.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our advanced website hosting platform shall generate access logs for every website hosted inside a semi-dedicated server account, assuming that this feature is activated. All domains and subdomains that you have will be listed in the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, which we supply with all the accounts, so if you'd like our system to start producing logs for each of them, you should just click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and switch the default Off option to On. You'll be able to stop this function anytime by following the exact same steps. You'll find a Download link for each log in the same section of the Control Panel, so you will be able to save the content produced by our system in .txt format with just a click. An existing log file could be downloaded even after the function has been deactivated, so you'll still be able to see the data that's already been generated.
